On the 25th of May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council – 27 April 2016) came into effect. This regulation establishes the rules on protecting, processing and transferring personal data of individuals and directly applies to all entities that process this data in any of the member state of the European Union, which includes Portugal.
This is considered the most important regulatory measure to protect privacy, through the protection of personal data and applying to all EU residents regardless of their nationality. The regulation puts individual and their right to privacy at the heart of data protection.
The concern for privacy and the protection personal data and information security are not new issues for Cenertec. In fact, over the past few years we have made continuous effort to strengthen internal procedures and the security of information systems with special attention to the personal data of customers, employees, trainers and others.
Thus, in order to continue this focus in terms of our internal procedures and to assure strict compliance with the new regulation, Cenertec want to make you aware of the new rules applicable to the treatment of your personal data, the rights that you have to informing you of how you can manage directly and simply your consent.
Therefore,
Cenertec is the entity responsible for the processing of your personal data and for ensuring the protection of your privacy, acting in accordance with the law and the new regulation on data protection, and determining the means of treatment and the purposes accordingly.
The personal data that we have, was collected during the duration of the contractual relationship, interactions and communication of training courses, in a long-term relationship of trust established with Cenertec and are treated with respect and loyalty in compliance with the applicable legislation, whether it is automated or not.
Data will be processed within the scope of the contractual purpose, complying with legal requirements and for marketing purposes (related to our area of activity, such as communication of offers and discounts, with the aim of making you aware of our courses, seminars, congresses , news and opportunities you can benefit from).
Please note that Cenertec will retain your personal data for the period necessary for the respective purposes.
In the scope of our activity, personal data may be communicated to other entities, public or private, always in strict compliance with legal requirements.
If you want to keep your data and the information that Cenertec has registered, you will not have to do anything.
However, we want you to know that, at any time, you have the right to access your personal data, as well as, within the limits of the contract and the regulation, to change, object to data processing (automated or non-automated), withdraw consent and exercise your rights provided for by law, as long as it is not in violation with our legal obligations.
On our part, we ensure that your data is subject to a lawful, fair and transparent processing. We regularly update measures and procedures to ensure the safety of your data. In any case, for your security, you will be notified in case of any violation of your data.
We consider the protection and confidentiality of your personal data of the utmost importance. For this reason, we have adopted measures that we consider appropriate to ensure the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of your personal data, as well as all other rights that are at your disposal.
